Support Our Programs
Charity Care provides reduced cost or free donor milk to pediatric outpatients in need. Since 2016, we have awarded over $450,000 in Charity Care to Wisconsin and Illinois families. We support NICU graduates, babies on the organ transplant list, and pediatric patients with spinal muscular atrophy, GI illness, and other acquired and congenital conditions.
Access Donor Milk Program provides significant discounts to safety net hospitals in an effort to reduce racial and ethnic disparities and promote health equity.
Poppy’s Dream Bereavement Memorial Program provides comprehensive care for families who choose to donate milk after loss. Each baby’s name is hand painted on a star which adorns a breathtaking night sky mural in the lobby of our Education & Outreach Center. Private events and our annual candle lighting ceremony provide ongoing support for grieving families. We are grateful to the Babinski Family, Melinda’s Pixie Dust Foundation, and every financial donor who supports this meaningful program.
The Center for Research, Safety & Innovation was established in 2020 to bring cutting edge research and technology to Milk Bank WGL. Lennon’s Laboratory, made possible by a generous donation from the Grossenbach Family, houses our microbiological and immunological testing equipment. Every batch of milk is screened to ensure safety and quality.
