QUINCY, Ill. (KHQA) — QMG has partnered with Mothers Milk of the Western Great Lakes to open a new milk depot.
This is the first milk depot in Quincy.
“Our team here at QMG is committed to the health and care of women and infants. We are honored to partner with Mothers’ Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes to provide an opportunity for local women to give the gift of donor milk,” said QMG Obstetrician/Gynecologist Katy Wand, MD.
All donors are pre-screened for eligibility.
Once they are approved, they can drop the milk off at QMG’s 1118 Vermont St. location.
From there it is sent off for pasteurization and decontamination.
The milk then stays local, being given to babies who need it most.
Those who choose to donate their breast milk are truly saving lives.
If you are interested in going through the pre-approval process there are two ways to do so.
You can either call (847) 262-5134 or visit the Mothers Milk of the Western Great Lakes website, here.
