Milestone reached! Thanks to the generosity of so many, our Joliet and Bolingbrook depots have officially collected 20,000 ounces of donor milk. This milestone is a testament to the power of community, and to one donor whose “why” truly brings our mission to life.
💛 Her Why 💛
“My sister and best friend both had premies. The day that my best friend’s son was discharged from the NICU, my nephew was born. They both received donor milk and that led both of them to become milk donors themselves. When I found out that I had an oversupply, I knew just what to do. I’m so grateful to have had the education, knowledge and support to exclusively pump for my son and even more grateful for the opportunity to help other babies. Breastmilk is like magic and every ounce counts!! Feeling so lucky to feed my baby and other babies through this process!!!”
Her story reminds us that generosity is often born of empathy, seeing what our loved ones went through, and choosing to change the narrative for others. Because of her, multiple lives will be nourished, and more mothers may feel empowered to donate.

Why This Matters
Every ounce of donor milk counts. It becomes life-saving nutrition for medically fragile infants, particularly in NICUs, and support for families when their own supply is not enough. This donation milestone is more than a number — it’s proof that mothers, depots, and organizations working together can build healthier futures for the tiniest lives.
